Davangere, Nov. 26: “Plastic Free Society” awareness program was organized herein Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra – Davangere.

The Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner drew special attention to the urgent need to protect the environment and ecosystem along with the plastic ban. Referring to the recent strict control of DJ sound systems (DJ ban), he said that excessive noise pollution during festivals and processions causes severe harm to the health of humans, environment and animals and birds. On this occasion, he created awareness among the students about the effects of noise pollution on the life cycle of natural livestock, bird migration and the mental state of pets, and called for “real change is possible only when the reduction of unnecessary noise and plastic pollution starts from the home and extends to the level of society.”Students of classes 8, 9 and 10 actively participated in the detailed discussion on plastic and noise pollution conducted by the guests. Suggestions were received from the students on reducing the use of plastic in the school. Practical examples of eco-friendly practices were shared.

ಮಾನ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ನಿಷೇಧದ ಜತೆಗೆ ಪರಿಸರ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವಜಾಲ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ತುರ್ತು ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದರು. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಜಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಡಿಜೆ ಸೌಂಡ್ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಿನ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ (DJ ban) ಕುರಿತು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಉತ್ಸವ ಮತ್ತು ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಅತಿಯಾದ ಶಬ್ಧ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯವು ಮನುಷ್ಯ, ಪರಿಸರ ಮತ್ತು ಮೃಗ-ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಹಾನಿ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಪ್ರಾಕೃತಿಕ ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳ ಜೀವಚಕ್ರ, ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಸಂಚಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಕುಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಶಬ್ಧ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯದಿಂದಾಗುವ ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, “ಅನಾವಶ್ಯಕ ಶಬ್ಧ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯ ಕಡಿತ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ, ಸಮಾಜದ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿದಾಗಲೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯ,” ಎಂದು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ಶಬ್ಧ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯ ಕುರಿತ ವಿಸ್ತೃತ ಚರ್ಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ8, 9 ಮತ್ತು 10 ನೇ ತರಗತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊoಡರು. ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಬಳಕೆ ಕಡಿತ ಕುರಿತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಂದ ಸಲಹೆಗಳು ಬಂದವು. ಪರಿಸರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಗಳ ಅನುಸರಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಯಿತು.
